The second annual Bourbon by the Bay held November 11, on top of the Maritime Museum was a smashing success, but no prized bottles were smashed, well if I remember correctly.
Wiley Blankenship and delightful crew welcomed 150 guests with fun, food and fantastic bourbons. Thanks to Stacey Wellburn for the gracious greeting as we anxiously approached the outstanding array of bourbons. I was partial to Old Forester 1870, a bit of western fling and gives you a personality. Eagle Rare was also satisfying since its’ share taste makes you feel smart. Since there were a selection of elected officials in attendance, it helped me appear conversational.
Fortunately Consultant Ron Franks joined me and attempted to teach restraint but there were so many choices. Alan, (our technical advisor) and Lori also represented the consultants in fine form.
My only complaint to Wiley and crew is this should be a monthly event rather than annual. OK patience as a virtue is overrated but I will anxiously wait until next year.
